Mainstage Dance Competition & Convention
EVENT DETAILS
The MainStage Dance Competition & Convention will be held at the Sioux City Convention Center 801 4th St. Sioux City IA, 51101.
Doors open 1 hour prior to competition. Doors open Friday at 3pm and Saturday at 8am.
Competition Spectator’s Fee:
There is a $5 CASH ONLY (ATM in the lobby) spectators fee for the competition. Your wristband will be valid for both Friday and Saturday sessions.
Program & Schedules:
Our competition program order will be posted on our website for your parents and family’s to view. There will also be QR codes posted around the convention center for quick program access.
We will run our competition organized by age with 3 separate awards ceremony’s. Senior awards will be on Friday evening. Mini, Junior and Teen awards ceremony’s will be throughout the day on Saturday.
Schedule:
Please be aware that the competition may run up to 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Have your dancers ready to go early.
Improv Challenge:
Show us your moves! WIN a FREE solo entry to the 2025 MainStage Dance Competition. Dancers will perform in groups, have less than 1 minute to self choreograph to unknown music. Music will be chosen at random. There are four age divisions Mini, Junior, Teen and Senior. Improv can be performed in basic dance wear, no costumes required. Enter the day of the competition at the main registration table no later than 30 minutes prior to the dance challenge. Each Improv challenge will happen directly before each age groups awards ceremony. $25 CASH ONLY (there is an ATM in the lobby)
Trophy’s and MainStage Merchandise:
Dancer’s will be able to purchase extra trophy’s and MainStage merchandise in the main lobby of the convention center. CASH ONLY (there is an ATM in the lobby)
Food & Drinks:
NO outside food or drink allowed in the Convention Center. There will be food and drinks available for purchase on both Friday and Saturday during the competition.
Pictures and Video:
We ask that you be respectful and use NO FLASH photography. Please only take video and photos of YOUR dance routines. If a studio is photographing or videotaping routines that do not belong to them your studio will be deducted 5 points from their total score.
Convention:
Spectators must purchase a wrist band to watch the convention classes. Wrist bands must be purchased though your studio’s account Dance Comp Genie Account. See your studio director to purchase wristband. Everyone is welcome to attend our closing awards ceremony Sunday 4:30PM free of charge.
